So tomorrow we are getting up bright and early to travel to the airport and start our adventure. After numerous attempts of packing, unpacking and repacking, I think I’ve finally got my final lot.
Packing enough for over a month, but still packing light is hard. Far, far harder than I thought it would be. I usually have so much choice when it comes to make up, so to narrow it down to a limited few was rather challenging. So, let’s have a look at what made the final cut!
In an attempt to lighten my hold bag, I’ve put various bits, including these three essentials in my handbag.
These are the Body Shop Shea butter lip balm, as the cold weather really dries my lips out. The Clarins hand cream (from a previous subscription box) for the same reason and the Polar icy magic eye roll on. This roll on is an absolute life saver when I have tired and itchy eyes, hence I’ll be carrying on my person.
For the face, I went with things I literally use everyday. Every morning, before I put any make up on, I apply a mix of Nuxe moisturiser cream and Nuxe dry oil to my skin. It does a wonderful job of keeping my skin mositurised and grease free all day long.
Next is a new primer I’m trying from one of my early Christmas presents. So far, it seems to be working pretty well with my skin. This will be followed up by the favourite product in my arsenal; the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. I’ve been using this for a long time now, yet I’m still in awe of how long lasting and how fantastic the coverage is.
Last for my skin was the Hoola bronzer, to be used as a contouring powder.
Next is the eyeshadows. I have many different pallets that I rotate through, but my most used tends to be these two; the sample sized Pop, and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. The latter being my absolute favourite at the moment, there was no way I’d leave it!
Eyebrows are never to be forgotten. Nor is a good eyeliner. I went for my much loved, Tropic brow palette, My Little Box and L’Oréal eyeliners. For my lashes, I’m just bringing my cheap and chearfull mascara from Kiko.
Last up is a mini perfume, and one of my favourites; Island Escape, from M&S.
This is a lovely summery scent, which is really long lasting. It comes in a pretty little blue and yellow bottle with a plain gold cap.
I’ve been rather lucky that I have miniature versions of most of these products from my subscription boxes, so if I need to transfer anything to my handbag I can.
I’ve even got a handy bag, from one of the final My Little Box subscriptions to put all my lovely goodies in!
Now my next challenge is to try and get some sleep with all the excitement for tomorrow!
What do you bring with you when you go away?
